The University of Florida announced it has chosen Chartwells Higher Education as the official food provider for campus dining, effective June 20, 2022.

Why was Chartwells chosen as UF’s new food service provider? Who made this decision?

The selection of Chartwells as the next food service provider was the result of a year-long competitive bid process conducted by a 17-member ITN (Invitation to Negotiate) Committee composed of University of Florida subject-matter professionals, including faculty, staff and students, and managed by the  Office of Procurement.

Chartwells was ultimately selected for its expertise in the higher education industry, ability to reinvent the on-campus dining experience, and mission to engage with and serve students in innovative and meaningful ways.

Will the current Aramark employees be hired by Chartwells?

Current Gator Dining associates will be provided an opportunity to join their team with pay opportunities that are equal to or better than what they receive today.

Will the price of my meal plan increase?

Meal plan prices will not change for Summer B and Fall/Spring 2022-2023.

I have selected my meal plan for Summer B and/or Fall 2022-Spring 2023. Do I need to update my meal plan?

If you have already selected a Summer B and/or Fall 2022-Spring 2023 meal plan, you do not need to do anything. However, if you wish to upgrade or cancel your plan, you will be able to make changes through the first week of classes.

Where can I purchase a Summer B or Fall 2022-Spring 2023 meal plan?

When will Chartwells begin service on campus?

Chartwells will begin serving the University of Florida campus June 20, 2022.

I need catering for an upcoming event on campus. Who do I contact?

For new events prior to July 1. event planners may use a UF-approved caterer or email Matt Mueller, mmueller1@ufl.edu. For events planned after July 1, please contact Khara.Potter@compass-usa.com.

What will happen to current Classic Fare and national brand catering orders on campus that take place before July 1st and after July 1st?

Classic Fare Catering is no longer accepting orders for events prior to July 1. Orders already scheduled and confirmed by Aramark prior to July 1 are not affected.  For new events prior to July 1, event planners may use a UF-approved caterer or email Matt Mueller, mmueller1@ufl.edu. For events planned after July 1, please contact Khara.Potter@compass-usa.com.

Will Chartwells be able to assist with my dietary needs? Will Kosher, vegan, halal, and gluten free meals continue to be part of the dining program?

Yes, the Chartwells team of passionate culinarians will work with individual students to meet their individual dietary needs and ensure a stellar experience in all locations.

How will Chartwells support sustainability/what is their commitment to supporting local?

Chartwells’ commitment to local purchasing is a priority both through local producers and partnerships with local restaurants. Chartwells looks forward to elevating local purchasing and enjoying a renewed focus on this aspect of dining at UF.

What types of changes will we see on campus? When will the changes begin?
New menus and cuisines will kick off once Chartwells begins service. Location transformations will begin this summer as Chartwells works to create new experiences for UF students.
